Discover: the Joey Spotlight, and Koala Radio on loop 📻
One independent artist at a time, picked by a person for the music and never for sale — and Koala Radio, a lofi station on loop for working through a queue.

Most of KoalaQueue is about getting a track heard by one curator. Discover is about getting an artist heard by everybody else.
The Joey Spotlight
A joey is a baby koala. Here it is an independent artist early in their career whom we think the world should hear. One at a time, the Joey Spotlight puts them up in the gum tree: their story in their own words, why we picked them, a Spotify player for the track, album or artist, and links to their Instagram or website if they have them.
It is picked by the KoalaQueue team, for the music. It cannot be bought — not with credits, not with a plan, not with anything else. A spotlight stays up until the next one; earlier Joeys stay on the page under Previously in the gum tree.
Koala Radio
Koala Radio is a lofi station on loop, around the clock. It plays on the Discover page and has its own page at /radio.html. Curators: it is the right speed for clearing a queue. Artists: it is the right speed for writing the next track.
It plays through YouTube's player, which stays visible while it plays, as YouTube requires. Where your browser allows sound without a click it starts on its own; where it does not, press play.
The honest limits
The spotlight is one artist, chosen by people, so most artists will not be in it — we would rather it meant something. And the radio is our own mix on a loop, not a station with presenters or requests.
